Health Occupations 1:
This course is designed for students interested in a healthcare career directly out of high school or after technical school or college. Students will explore many health care careers, facilities, cultural diversity, ethical and legal issues, history of healthcare, nutrition, medical math, and medical terminology. Students will also learn a variety of basic health care skills.
Health Occupations 2:
This course is designed for students who are interested in health care careers that require post-secondary education. Students will learn about personal qualities of healthcare workers, infection control, safety, basic health careskills, medical math, first aid, pharmacology, more medical terminology, and medical abbreviations. Interested students may obtain First Aid certification. Students who are interested in health care careers that require post-secondary education. Students will learn about human growth and development, geriatric care, job seeking skills, pharmacology,diseases, reproduction, and drug and alcohol abuse.
